...FROM JAIL TO BAIL...

How much do you charge for your services?

The cost, or premium, will be 15% of the total amount of the bond plus a $10.00 fee that goes to the county.

What is the Procedure?

Alright, so you or a loved one has been arrested… A judge in the county where the arrest took place sets the amount of the bond. Next, the defendant is required to post bail before he/she can be released from jail. *Posting bail through a bonding company is the most popular form of release.

When posting bond through a bonding company, a co-signer is required. Prior to posting the bond, a friend or relative of the defendant is contacted to serve as a guarantor on the bond. This person acts as a financial guarantor and obligates himself to ensure the defendant's appearance in court. The bonding company guarantees to the court that they will pay the total amount of the bond if a defendant fails to appear for court. Now, if the defendant fails to appear in court, the co-signer is obligated to remit the full amount of the bond to the bonding company, who in turns pays it to the courts.

What happens once I co-sign?

Once a person has co-signed for the defendant, the bail agent will then sign the defendant's bond and the defendant will be released from jail.

How long until the defendant is released from jail?

The defendant will be released after the bail agent posts the bond. However, release time varies; each jail has its own protocols. Bill May Bail Bonding will do everything possible to expedite the release of your loved one.

Collateral is anything of value used to financially secure a bail bond.

What can be used as collateral?

Cash or property is the most common form of collateral. Unfortunately, Bill May Bail Bonding chooses not to accept cars or car titles as collateral.

What forms of payment can I use?
